Seriously, what is going on with me lately? I swear, the world is falling down around me. Everyone, including myself, has been racked with sick. Including more for Penny, with stuff coming out of her mouth this time.
I need a five minute break from sickness.
Needless to say, I did NOT get my art/decorations finished for the bathroom...so no pics today. I am SO sorry, but I promise, they are coming. If this weekend isn't full of more unplanned crazy....oh did I just say that all other times I plan crazy? I wish I could say no. Anyway, I'll have it done for next week. Thanks for hanging in there with me!
This week, since I've been dying to show you some of my favorite furniture shops anyway, I'm going to share a few pieces from two of them. The first of them being the freshly opened kate spade furniture line! I know, you are about to jump out of your shoes. I did, too. Like, I think I almost cried tears of joy.
This first piece is just full of happiness! See for yourself:
I mean, just look at this calypso side table. It's got class, a bow drawer handle, and polka dots on top. Like a cherry on top of ice cream. Who else wants ice cream now? We can blame it on this side table. Really, though, I can't actually get over how much personality flows out from this piece. I love that it is elegant with a twist of bubbly fun. And now I want champagne. That's just it, this table says, "I'm all about ice cream and champange, but I'm still a grown up. Sometimes. Wink*,".
If this was part of a design for a client (which today, is me - in dreamworld, not gonna lie) I'd have to chose one more kate spade item, because I want to pair this end table with a rockin' sofa. Check it out:
I usually don't like to pair large furniture pieces that come from the same collection or store. Why? Because it can end up looking too..."matchy". I don't want someone's home to look like the company catalog. But, you really can't go wrong pairing this so-chic drake tufted sofa with the calypso side table. I love this sofa because it's got modern, traditional, vintage and fun mixed up into one lovely piece. I can imagine my Barbies sitting on a miniature version of this. Not my current Barbies. My current Barbies are my childhood Barbies, which are in need of a serious makeover. Their hair is a hot mess.
And now, the second company I want to share with you is Koket, partnered with Brabbu Design Forces. Oh. My. Goodness. They are so glamorous. I first came across Brabbu at the Architectural Digest Home Show a couple of years ago. Now every time I go, I have to stop by and touch everything. I often sit in the chairs and pretend I'm high-society fabulous. (I'm actually just regular people fabulous). Speaking of fabulous, check out the Chandra Armchair, by Koket, below:
If I were going to mix this into a design with the sofa and side table, I would probably choose a white or black fabric, to make it blend in a bit better. But this blue...holy moly. Now, this is a total statement piece, as are the other two, which could be a bit overwhelming in one space. But since it's got a similar feel as the other two pieces, it would work as the statement piece while still fitting in.
Would these pieces in your own home make you feel sassy? I'm dreaming of a huge closet room, where all of them could live happily ever after.
I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my favorite furniture shops! There are plenty more, and I'll continue this series, combining different pieces that work together from different shops. If you find it helpful, let me know! I'd also love to hear what your favorite places to shop are in the comments section below!
Thanks for visiting friends! If I could give you a freshly made gingerbread cookie, I would :)
P.S. Remember to stay tuned (next week) for those bathroom decor photos!
